Hi I'm Roselyn, and I recently completed a 13 week coding bootcamp with futureproof

I describe myself as someone who always has a positive attitude and is not afraid to try new things. Throughout my time with futureproof I have thoroughly enjoyed learning new programming languages and look forward to continue developing my technical skills even further. Prior to joining the bootcamp, I qualified as a Chartered Accountant during my three years in audit. My future goal is to combine my commercial experience alongside my coding knowledge to find a role within the Fintech industry. Outside of my professional experience, I love to travel and experience different cultures, having been to almost 30 countries so far (currently my favourite place is Japan!).

Blogue

Group project to create a community journalling webpage, built using Express.js. Data is stored in the backend within json files. Users can anonymously post entries with an optional accompanying GIF. Other users may view, comment and react on submitted posts.

Rock, Paper, Scissors

A simple implementation of the classic rock, paper, scissors game. The game is played against the computer and the first to score five points wins the session. Sessions can be restarted at any time. This was a solo project built using HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript.

Hobbit

Habit tracking app that allows users to log and monitor their habits. Hobbit was built as part of a group project using technologies such as Node.js and PostgreSQL. JWTs were used for authentication and authorisation as well as Docker for containerisation.

Let's Get Quizzical

An online quiz game built as part of a group project. Client side was built with React/Redux and Node.js, Express and mongoDB was used for the server. The game utilises Socket.io to allow multiple users to play together. Questions and answers are fetched from OpenTrivia API.

PlanEat

Meal prep app built as part of the final group project at futureproof. PlanEat allows users to get recipe inspiration and use this to organise their 7 day meal plan. The app features a flask back end connected to mongoDB. React/Redux was used to create the front end.
